Barbara Matlack, Co-Owner
Barbara Matlack was born in Trenton, NJ and has always resided in Mercer County. In 1998, Mrs. Matlack and Sifu Donna Russert founded Phoenix Academy of Martial Arts. Barbara believes in the many benefits of the martial arts and wanted to be part of opening a Kung Fu school that would offer traditional training in a safe environment.
At Phoenix Academy, Mrs. Matlack is responsible for the day-to-day administrative activities.
Prior to opening Phoenix Academy, Barbara worked for many years in the Market Research industry and from 1990 to 2004 was a co-owner of Survey Services.
Mrs. Matlack is thankful to be able to be part of a Martial Arts School where traditional Kung Fu skills are taught along with Christian principles.
Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."
